Jessica Alba to Jimmy Kimmel: 'Basically I thought I was having a stroke last week'

Actress mistakes carpal tunnel for near death experience

Jessica Alba paid a fun filled visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live! Tuesday night where she worked the kissing booth and made burgers. Earlier in the night, however, the star revealed details about what she thought to be a near death experience.

As noted by The Huffington Post, the actress told Kimmel "My whole arm was numb and then I got a cold sensation from the back of my neck up to the front." Alba explained that it was her daughter's pediatrician whom she called late in the night before going to the emergency room for a CAT scan.

Alba admitted husband, Cash Warren, was not thrilled when she persisted on calling her doctor, telling Kimmel he spent the four hours at the hospital lying down in the waiting room. However, the 31-year-old's symptoms did match that of a life threatening occurrence: "They all said, you had all the signs of a stroke if you were much older," Alba noted.

It turns out that the mother of two was suffering from a different ailment: carpal tunnel. According to the Post, Alba attributes the problem to the vast amount of time she spends working online for her business, The Honest Company.

Alba was there to promote her new animated film, Escape from Planet Earth, which also stars Brendan Fraiser, Sofia Vergara, and Sarah Jessica Parker, amongst others. She also promoted her book The Honest Life which goes on sale March 12.

The actress shared photos from the night on Instagram, along with the caption "I was a total spaz!"

Glad to hear you're alright Jess!
