Jessica Alba is too hot to be credible as a shy geek teaching elementary school math in this 2010 romantic comedy. It tries hard to be quirky. It even has J.K. Simmons, the dad in "Juno." The cast also features Sonia Braga, John Shea and Bailee Madison. PG-13, 96 minut! es. No e xtras. From MPI Media Group. Released Nov. 1.

He was nominated for five Emmys, winning once, for 1975's "An Evening with John Denver." He managed a number of singers, including Bob Dylan, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. And he has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. "Hot Coffee"
Tort reform has gotten a bad rap over the years, which this 2011 documentary tries to remedy. Starting with the famous 1994 legal battle over a spilled cup of McDonald's coffee, the film defends the legal system against the popular misconception that it's being played like the lottery by people seeking "jackpot justice." The film reveals how this notion gained popular credence, through the efforts of groups like Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse, which look like grass-roots efforts but actually are created by public relations companies for corporations. And the film! questio ns efforts to put a one-size-fits-all cap on punitive damages for persons injured by corporations. Those interviewed include Senator Al Franken, former judge Oliver Diaz and former Halliburton employee Jamie Leigh Jones. She was raped by co-workers while working in Iraq and was initially denied the right to a jury trial due to an arbitration clause in her contract. The film is the directorial debut of Susan Saladoff, a medical malpractice attorney for 26 years. It played at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and aired on HBO in June. Unrated, 86 minutes.
