Jessica Alba dons a cool fedora and bright floral kimono for holiday in St Barts

Jessica Alba clearly knows how to vacation in style.

The fashionable mother-of-two was enjoying a bit of rest and relaxation with some friends in St Barts on Wednesday.

And the 31-year-old actress smartly donned a glamorous beach outfit as the trio of ladies frolicked in the warm Caribbean waters.

The Fantastic Four star dipped her slender feet into the surf as she sipped from a beverage in a clear plastic cup.

Her friends wore matching cut-off jean shorts as they took in the tropical climate in white tank tops.

The three girlfriends appeared to be chatting as they cooled off in the gentle ocean waves.

Jessica donned a bright floral print kimono for the sweltering day.

Her famous brunette locks were kept out of the way with a Stetson style fedora.

The actress' wrists sported multicoloured bracelets as she slung a black leather purse over her left shoulder.

Later in the day The Honest Life author engaged in some retail therapy.

The California native was spotted leaving a clothing store, apparently on the hunt for some new fashion items from the Caribbean.

As she navigated the shops her toenails were clearly painted a bright orange, nicely complimenting her beachy ensemble.

Meanwhile, the Valentine's Day star has a full film schedule this year.

She has already lent her voice to the recently released animated feature, Escape from Planet Earth, co-starring Brendan Fraser.

And the Little Fockers actress has two upcoming sequels directed by Robert Rodriguez: Machete Kills and the highly anticipated Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, co-starring Bruce Willis and Josh Brolin.
