Jessica Alba has confessed that she sometimes lies to her children to keep them safe.

The Sin City actress revealed that she tells her 3-year-old daughter Honor Marie that everybody is hounded by the paparazzi.

"When the paparazzi follow us, and she asks me what they're doing, I tell her, 'They're just taking pictures. Isn't that silly?'" Alba told Parenting.

"I don't want her to have anxiety, so I tell her they do that to everyone, not just our family," she continued.

The 30-year-old went on to say that she lies about soda as well, telling her daughter that drinks like Coca-Cola are only for grown-ups.

"I serve Honor flavoured sparkling water - she thinks that it's soda and that's what I let her think," Alba said. "I told her that 'brown soda' is only for adults and she believes me. Ha!"
