Jessica Alba: Im a disciplinarian
When it comes to parenting, a good-cop, bad-cop method is the best way to tackle tantrum-prone tots. At least, according to Jessica Alba, who says that shes a disciplinarian when it comes to daughters Honor and Haven.
She explained that out of her and husband Cash Warren, shes the one to lay down the law: I'm the disciplinarian. I think it's because I was kind of a naughty kid myself - I'd push my parents' buttons and test them to see how much I could get away with.
She told Parenting magazine: Cash, meanwhile, was always the perfect kid - the straight-A student who was everyone's sweetheart. It was never in him to be naughty. I think I just know, from me being that other kind of child, how to cut off bad behaviour and redirect it.
Just like Britains own Supernanny, she wields the infamous naughty step instead, there's no step involved, and it's called a "time out". It's probably a bit easier to tell a kid off if you a) aren't near any stairs b) live in a bungalow: "When Honor tries to do something she shouldnt, I have to say to Cash: Let her know right from the beginning that she cant.
"Ill put her in time-out and tell her, Think about the choices youve made.
And though Cash is lacking in the strictness department, hes a hands-on dad: Cash is a super dad. If Im with Haven, hell make Honors lunch or take her to the park. They see movies or draw together shell even watch sports with him.
The kids are still young, though Havens seven months and Honor is six years old lets see if theyll still want to watch sports with their daddy in ten years time!
