Jessica Alba: I was a narcissist
Jessica Alba says she is less self-absorbed now she has become a mother.
The Spy Kids actress gave birth to baby Haven in August of this year and is already mother to three-year-old Honor Marie.
But she has told InStyle Australia in their January issue that it is a good thing she had children because she now doesnt focus so much on herself.
I felt completely different, she revealed about having her first baby. I really came into myself as a person. Before I was always working for my identity.
And then you take the focus off of yourself. I was probably, definitely, a bit of a narcissist.
When you are young and an actor and driven, its a bizarre state of mind to be in at times. I was so focused on things that didnt matter at the end of the day.
Now I have what I do for a living in perspective. Working was everything to me, my entire identity, and once I got to step away from it, everything changed.
But Jessica also says that she felt she would crack under the pressure of being a mother.
Its overwhelming, she shared honestly. I dont consider myself a lot of the time. I think a lot of mums do that, try to be everything to everyone all the time. I make mistakes. I do try to do way too much.
Jessica raises her two girls with director husband Cash Warren who she has been married to for four years.
